DESTINY - - - YES OR NO ?????????

I often wonder from where did the God get his super efficient, 24x7 working ,diligent, uncorrupt administrative staff ( definitely not from India )?

And also his computers must be having unbelievable configuration otherwise how it would be possible for him to have information about the whole universe of the past, present and also the future in his data base

The moment a life takes birth ,its each and every moment is monitored by him as he is the one who has got the ropes of each life in his hand. Everything that happens is as per his desire, his guidance and under his supervision.

I am sure even before the commencement of new life, God would be feeding all the success, failures, mood swings, personality traits, happenings, mis- happenings of the new life in his computers that is why we always say “it was destined” because everything is as per his wish and under his directions.

.I wonder how he manages to plan the whole cycle of the new life in such a meticulous manner. There is no scope for any breakdown or failures in his system.

There are many who don’t believe in destiny. They say there is nothing as destiny. every thing is in our own hand and they believe that by hard work we can change our destiny

But is it not possible that the changing of destiny was also predecided by the God? Or hard work done by us is also predetermined by him. Because he wants us to toil the soil, he wants some people to work day in day out and so they do it.

Is it not possible because we are destined to succeed that is why we work hard and aim towards success?
Whereas ,for some he has other plans that is why they are not hardworking or particular about certain things in the life.

Just for an example a student flunks in the exams. And he is condemned for his failure because of not studying. Is it possible that because it was destined that he will fail that is why he didn’t study?
Is it not possible that when God wants something to happen then he only manipulates the circumstances in such a way that everything becomes conducive for the happening of that particular event and vice versa?

If two persons are destined to meet, then the situations will automatically take twists and turns to see that the two persons unite. otherwise come what may they will not cross ways.

I am a strong believer of destiny and I may be wrong in my thinking. There will be many who will not subscribe to my thinking and they will have their own point of view. I am open to any reasoning and also have no reservations to change by way of thinking provided the arguments against destiny are strong enough and convincing.

And if I do change my thinking then I would say it was destined that I will be changing my views. ;-)

Well, God is super powerful, thats why you call him the Eternal!
He has His one guardian angel with us always. :-)

I would contradict on the student-flunking point. Duty, is daughter of God, and she shows us the right path in life. And, it is a student's mistake if he does not follow his Duty of studying. It is not his destiny! You can make and break your own Destiny! :D

LOL at ur stubbornness in your belief. I guess a blend of both helps us live better. The realization of a thing called destiny helps you to "accept things that you cannot change" and the realization of your own ability and will in materializing certain things helps you to "change things that you can" :)
and yeah uve brought out a typical modern age god out there. Whilst we were taught that "God commanded and there was light.." I guess our children would be taugh there was a geek..who was immensely skilled in writing programs and he programmed everythng that you see today

I am a firm believer in destiny. There have been incidents in my life which will lead only to destiny.
God creates circumstances which makes you do right or wrong depending upon what one is destined for.Please.....including death.

ramya that is what i said, if it is destined that you will fail then things will take such turn tht you will not be able to do your duty ;-)
BK Chowla yes every thing is as per his wish
verbivorehere yes i am stubborn. i strongly believe that if some thing has to happen then it will happen. if a particualr thing is there in my destiny then i will work hard and march towards it with all my efforts

Hello Anju ma'am!

There's no doubt that there are too many phenomena that cannot be predicted and/or controlled by humans. And we may attribute this inability to what we call 'destiny'. Though, I choose to call it randomness.

But our belief in God stems from the (flawed) extrapolation that just because some things are which we cannot predict/control, there must be an entity that possess ability and intent to be determining all those events! I hope you see the flaw in this line of thinking.

If that entity is God, who controls God? We initially, hypothesized that God exists only because, there were certain events in the Universe we could not predict. But then, we also say that we cannot predict how God works! Then, how have we added anything of value to our understanding of the world by insinuating a hypothesis of God?

If a teacher in an examination asks a child, "Why do we see lightning first, and then hear the sound?", then the child's answer can only be one of the two:

1. "Light travels faster than sound." Or a very twisted joke--ears are located behind the eyes!

OR

2. "I don't know!"

The teacher will laugh at the pupil or fail him if he says, "the answer to that question is known by my mom, but she won't tell me the reason!" Such an answer would be of no value. But that's what we precisely say when uttering 'God knows' (especially, in context of 'destiny').

Kindly publish this comment, and also reply to it here. I'd be curious.

TC.

Hi Ketan
i suppose you are a student ( as i read in one of the posts that you were supposed to be studying)
so for a young person like these are veryy philoshpical and deep thoughts
I suppose every one of us have different theories regarding GOD
as none of us has seen him/her but as you say there are certain things which cant be explained by any one that is why we link them to GOD.
for me GOD is someone to whom I can turn to in time of distress. when i am deep waters, just thinking about him gives me a ray of hope. and when i pray to him ( i am very selfish and demanding i.e why i always ask him for something or other) I get the confidence that either my wish would be fullfilled or atleast I have reminded him of my problems ( which he may have ignored because of heavy work load on him) or if my desires are not met then God didn't want me to enjoy or get what I wanted
simple explanation
God is what we make out him to be

thanx a lot Swatantra for the award. I am very greedy and like a small child I want to get hold of as many as awards as possible. This motivates me and inspires me to write down my thoughts more and more often.
Solilo hahahahahh, I know it is bit cheeky on my part to have my cake and eat it too. yani ki chit bhi meri and pat bhi meri
i just cant help it if i am a stauch believer of destiny.

HI!!!
Thank you for always visiting my blog and leaving such nice comments on there!!!
I do believe in Destiny and I truly believe in God and his son Jesus Christ. I think all of us have a destiny to fulfill and we will stand before our maker and he will decide where we will spend eternity, if we believe in him and ask him into our hearts and ask for forgiveness of our sins we will live in Heaven and that is MY destiny!!!! I understand not everyone feels like this or believes like this , but that is my belief and I have had miracles occur in my life that I know came from God.
I hope and Pray that you find your Destiny and God is a part of that!!!
love,
jamie

I am a believer in destiny. I know whatever has happened in my life is due to some reason. God has been kind to me and for that I will be forever grateful.

Well,i dont agree on the student flunking example..
Destruction of a building by an earthquake is an accident, and is hence fate,or the building is destined to be demolished out of an earth quake..but when the same building is destroyed using a bomb explosion,it is not simply fate, but is a condemnable act!!

YSR Reddy's chopper has gone missing.I hope he is safe and will return.
What has happened today....is it destiny?????

shilpa said...

You seem to be a strong believer of destiny well i do believe sometimes

AnjuGandhi said...

BK Chowla ofcourse it was destined and if it is not found and the country losses him then it was his destiny to go like this
gayathri the act of bomb explosion is condemnable act but the loss caused to bldg or life wAS destined.
an act can be condemnable but the results are prewritten by the almighty.
or may be God himself has predetermined that such a shameful, condemnable act will be committed. :-)

Who says that god's systems are in-efficient? Look at your surrounding and there is clear evidence that he too has flaws in his otherwise "near perfect" system. It's his technical design flaws during experimentation that has led to "Re-factoring" in life.

Aren't you aware of the fact that God first created Man and then said to himself,"I could have done better", he then created Eve.

As for destiny, I agree that things are not in our hands hence the different lifestyle that we go through. I am although not 100% convinced that we as humans understand the truth behind life and the various things that life has to offer to us.

Alas! I am perhaps destined at this time to think this way and convey in comments on your blog!

Great post! There are many arguments for and against the existence of GOD. But I guess ultimately it's an individual choice to believe in HIM or not. I believe in GOD, destiny and hard-work too. I follow Geeta where Krishna asks Arjun to do his Karma, rest is not in our hands, that's destiny. We should not worry about the result, pass or fail, in or out, but ultimately we have the satisfaction of having tried hard :)

in our lives, only three things are destined - our birth, our marriage and our death...because these three things are related to life - ours and the new borns...we already have researched on this thoroughly and it is not practically possible for me to explain this theory as a comment, but we make our own destiny...you can achieve whatever you believe in..if it is possible for you, just try this out - when you need something in life, you usually pray to god that I need it badly or will I get it? or will you please give it to me? Instead of that, just pray that god I know this thing is meant for me and I am sure you will give it to me...and keep repeating this to urself that you will get that thing...

I would appreciate if you do not publish this comment until you try this out...I don't want to hurt people who firmly believe in destiny...but I would like to know your view point as well...we are still working on the whole theory of believe and achieve...success ratio is pretty much fair too...

thank u..:)

Hello All

for all above coneversations and coomments , I have a conclusion .and I am strongly believer of this .
As I am just now 23 yrs but I read a lot of books .. blogs and met lot of people and found lot of views.. thought while looking upside at sky in night
at last I become strong believer of this
It is not too lengthy like GEETA ..it is just one word i.e. 'BALANCE'..
If we do all facts of life and things of the univese in balanced form. I damn sure that our life will be going in smooth way
and I think it is absolutely true. I have some examples for this

Ex. 1 As we know the love between mother and child ..it is extreme one but i want to recommend to mothers that they love theirs child in limit (balance)
It is main cause of quarrel between 'Devrani' and 'jetani' in joint family. lets take an eg.. they try to give maximum milk(of which family bought)
They ignores mistakes of their child..this is only one case which i said ..there are many cases harm to others and making life miserable of others and ourself too
same case with love between husband & wife

Ex. 2 Now adays young genration comes to city for eduacation and earn money ...and they use freedom at full flash ..
I am not asking for all ...but here i am pointing to "Balance' word... We should so masti in limit ...take care health instead of taking access of wines..
should not take decision to go physical relationship... otherwise this yoputh of india will under depression ..n lot of headache

Ex .3 lot of people are creating problems for others and themselves by always saying 'YES' at workd ...to friends ...to wife ... to child
We have to learn to say 'NO' instead of 'YES' .So here 'YES' should be in balanced form

Ex.4 the people who are strong believer of GOD ..,doing daily workships of long period(puja-path) . Such people whenever , face a hurdle or problems
they start praying and chanting of mantras. but he do nothing and just watch and wait GOD will change situation..They behave like Coward..
They dont take decisions and do some tries ...

Ohhh it is too long ..I am stopping comment here..and welcoming comments on this too
At last i can say..belive in GOD and destiny should be in balance.GOD always tries to make the Universe balanced not accord to personally

thank you

Well a good topic! I & my sister had a debate of almost 5 hours on the same topic .I was a believer of destiny & my sister"s emphasis was more on free will. When a I look at my life I can recall countless incidences where something happened out of nowhere, which I never planned & for something which i was hoping to come at my way inspite of all my hard work never happened "coz destiny had other plans for me...... Well All I could conclude on that day was every single moment is planned by destiny. You cant change it, If it is bound to happen,it would happen... A small story I would like to share with everyone ,though I don't remember word to word so here I am narrating with slight variations.
There was this small town name "A" where a man lived with a servant. One morning he sent his servant to the market to bring vegetables. His servant came running & begged his master if he can give his horse to him for a day. His surprised master asked him why he wanted the horse. The Servant said that he saw " death " wearing black robe & staring & pointing towards him & that's why he wanted to run from this town to escape from death. His master allowed him to take the horse. The servant ran towards the town "B". Master himself decided to go to the market. When he reached the market he saw there someone resembling to whom his servant described. 'Someone wearing black robe & staring'. Master asked"are you death?" . There came this voice"yes". His master asked whom he was looking for."Death" replied "Well today I was suppose to meet a person in town "B" & in the morning I saw that person here ,so I was just wondering what he is doing here, when he should be in town "B".

The story does say something more but the logic is not yet complete.
All I can say to conclude everything is predestined but what is in our hand is not to hurt someone intentionally by our deeds because What goes around comes all the way back around. So one should keep walking on the path.Whatever would be in his destiny he would keep getting that but its wrong to think this way that if everything is predestined then what"s the use of keep walking. You won't get untill you won't keep walking.....
